The Government has created a statutory liability shield which can protect volunteer directors of Resident Mangement Companies (RMC) and Right to Manage (RTM) organisations from civil and criminal prosecution for building safety failings.
Outsource liability to a dedicated expert
If the Directors of an RTM are unpaid and appoint a paid director for a building safety purpose the unpaid directors are shielded from all liability. Consult HRB is ready and able to take up such a directorship.
Currently, RMC directors cannot take advantage of the liability shield due to a legislative oversight. Consult HRB is actively lobbying the Government to correct this anomaly.
For building owners who are not RMCs or RTMs, for example, commercial organisations, Consult HRB can act as Building Safety Manger and still provide all the expertise required to meet your statutory requirements.
